CField Construction has been chosen as the main contractor by Fusion Group to deliver two schemes in London and Glasgow, which will see the development of more than 1,200 PBSA beds and nearly 80 affordable homes before the academic year of 2028.

The contracts are worth £176 million in total, and will deliver purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) alongside the homes.

In London, CField Construction will deliver a £97 million mixed-use scheme in London’s Wood Green. This scheme will consist of a 636-bed PBSA building as well as 79 affordable homes.

CField Construction has broken ground on a £79 million, 633-bed PBSA development on the iconic Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow.

The development maintains the current 1930’s Art Deco façade and intends to reinstate the historic Wellington arcade.

Gavin O’Flaherty, managing director of CField Construction, said: “Securing these two major contracts with Fusion Group is an important milestone for CField Construction and a strong endorsement of our team’s delivery capability in the living sector.

“Wood Green and Sauchiehall Street are both high-profile, complex urban schemes, and our focus is now on delivering them safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.”

O’Flaherty added: “We look forward to working closely with Fusion Group and the wider project teams to bring forward high-quality accommodation and affordable homes that make a positive contribution to their local communities.”

André Ferdinand, projects director at Fusion Group, said: “This collaboration brings together a shared commitment to construction excellence, innovative design, and architectural distinction.

“Wood Green and Sauchiehall Street are pivotal to our growth strategy, and CField’s proven delivery capability aligns with our strategic priorities of opening two high quality developments for the 2028 intake.”
