CHAP charity golf day raises £10,500 for SAMH and ‘The Nook’

The winning team
CHAP is proud to announce the success of its annual charity golf day, held on 1st August at Newmachar Golf Club, which raised an incredible £10,500 in support of SAMH (Scottish Action for Mental Health).
The funds will directly contribute to the launch of The Nook, Scotland’s first ever network of walk-in mental health support hubs.
Set to open in 2026, The Nook in Aberdeen will be the second hub opening in Scotland as part of a wider network, with the first Nook opening in Glasgow in Autumn this year. As part of the largest mental health initiative in Scotland’s history, The Nook will offer barrier-free access to mental health support — no appointments, no referrals, and no waiting lists.
It will be a safe, welcoming space for anyone in need of immediate help. You can find out more about The Nook initiative across Scotland at samh.org.uk/the-nook
Office manager and charities committee member, Anne Bonandrini, said: “We’re incredibly proud to support SAMH and their vision for The Nook. This initiative will make a real difference by offering immediate, accessible mental health support to those who need it most. It’s a much-needed resource for Aberdeen.”
The event saw fierce competition from 18 teams consisting of clients, supply chain partners and employees. CHAP’s very own Paul Matthew and his team emerged victorious, taking home the winner’s trophy. A huge thank you went out to all the players, volunteers, and supporters who made the day such a success.
A great day of golf, camaraderie, and community spirit was hailed by all in attendance — all for a truly worthy cause.
