Charities benefit from Home Fix Scotland donations

A large haul of office furniture has been donated to local charities by Inverclyde repairs and maintenance contractor Home Fix Scotland.

Items including desks, chairs, filing cabinets, and locking cupboards, have been given to organisations including the NHS and a local social enterprise, Belville Community Gardens.

Many of these items were surplus to requirements and kept in storage following River Clyde Homes’ move to new offices in Greenock in 2020.

Sally Clough, manager at Belville Community Garden Trust, said: “BCGT has been able to make great use of the filing cabinets that we received from RCH Group. Repurposing items around the community like this is a great way to save resources and help each other out, thank you!”

Elaine Gray, purchasing lead, at the NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde expressed her appreciation for the donation saying: “We’d like to thank River Clyde Homes and Home Fix Scotland for providing us with the furniture for use within our Health Board.

“This equipment will be put to good use and distributed throughout our acute and primary care sites. Donations such as these are vital as they allow our Health Board to make important savings on purchasing new equipment.”

Derek Ferguson, managing director, at Home Fix Scotland, commented: “At Home Fix Scotland, we have always been committed to supporting local communities any way we can so it’s fantastic to see these items being repurposed.”
