Clark Contracts completes four projects for University of Glasgow

Clark Contracts has completed four projects for the University of Glasgow, ranging in value from £200k to £2 million.

Two laboratory refurbishments were completed including works to relocate an existing semiconductor laboratory within the Rankine Building and the refurbishment of a mass spectrometer laboratory within the Molema Building.

The main contractor also completed the refurbishment of offices on levels 2 and 3 of the iconic Category A listed Gilbert Scott Building, involving down takings, redecoration and general refresh works.

Works were also completed to refurbish the Law Workshop within the Category A Listed Professor Square, with the creation of a new fully accessible, clearly defined and branded entrance and reception area, with gender neutral toilets and enhanced welfare and relaxation areas.

Both the Rankine Building semiconductor laboratory project and the Law Workshop have been shortlisted for ‘Refurbishment of the Year’ in the 2025 Learning Places Scotland Awards, which will be held in November.



Clark Contracts has been appointed on the university’s Minor Works Framework since 2006 and has delivered projects within many buildings located in the University of Glasgow’s Gilmorehill campus. The main contractor is currently on site completing a further three projects for the University.
