Multi-disciplinary development consultancy Pegasus Group has today announced the appointment of Colin Lavety as senior director - planning to launch a new office in Glasgow’s city centre and help lead the consultancy’s strategic expansion in Scotland.

Colin is joined by planning director Andrew Woodrow, with whom he has worked since 2018.

This additional Scottish office complements Pegasus’ move to a new Edinburgh site just over a year ago, and aligns with increasing client demand for Pegasus’ consultancy advice in Scotland.

Headed up by Colin, the new team will support clients across industries including the rapidly expanding energy and housing sectors. These clients in particular are grappling with the increasingly complex planning system which includes Scotland’s National Planning Framework (NPF), furthering demand for Pegasus’ expertise in Scotland.

Colin and Andrew both join Pegasus from engineering and design company Stantec, formerly Barton Willmore, where Colin spent the last ten years building and leading the planning team. With nearly 25 years’ experience in planning, Colin has worked on numerous high-profile Scottish projects, such as Aberdeen’s £420 million South Harbour expansion, which was recognised as a National development within Scotland’s NPF4. He has also acted as project lead for several commercial scale wind farms and a number of residential-led mixed-use regeneration projects.

In his new role, Colin will be using his vast experience to help drive Pegasus’ ambitious growth plans in Scotland and will oversee the rapid expansion of the planning teams in both the Edinburgh and Glasgow offices.

Colin and Andrew are two senior and highly-regarded names in the industry. They will be looking to develop their well-established client relationships, bringing their nuanced commercial focus and considerable industry experience across Scotland.

Commenting on the move, Pegasus Group’s new senior director of planning, Colin Lavety, said: “It is an exciting time to be joining Pegasus who continue to go from strength to strength. I look forward to leading the growth of the Pegasus planning presence in Scotland as part of the consultancy’s talented multidisciplinary team, who are renowned in the industry.”

Also commenting, the chief executive officer (CEO) of Pegasus Group, Douglas McCormick, said: “This significant growth of our presence in Scotland aligns perfectly with Pegasus’ long-term vision and strategic growth plans. With the senior appointments of Colin and Andrew, this new office in Glasgow will further our ambitions in Scotland, which are in lockstep with rising client demand.”
