The buildings earmarked for improvements include community sports facilities, visitor centres, leisure centres, day care centres and primary schools. 

Executive director of Housing and Technical Resources, Stephen Gibson, said: “Your feedback will help us understand how the proposals could affect residents, communities, service users and local organisations.

“We want to make sure people can continue to access services easily and that any potential issues are identified before decisions are made.”

Gibson added: “This significant investment in council infrastructure, right across the whole of South Lanarkshire, will improve the quality, accessibility, utilisation and sustainability of our estate.

“The £24m investment will be spread over three years, with £7.29m spent in 2026/27, £11.7m in 2027/2028 and £5m in 2028/2029.”

Participation in the consultation is done through the council website and the consultation will stay open until 29 September.

Lanark Memorial Hall is one of the buildings to be improved, which will get an investment of £150,000.
