Contractor appointed for Dunfermline to Crossford roadworks
Fife Council has appointed Newlay Civil Engineering to carry out major road improvements in Dunfermline this summer.
The works form a co‑ordinated programme to improve road surfaces, drainage, lighting and safety on key routes through the area.
The programme includes:
- Resurfacing on the A907 between Glen Bridge, Carnegie Drive, Pittencrieff Street and Segal Place.
- Resurfacing and drainage upgrades on the A994 between Dunfermline and Crossford.
- Pavement patching along the Dunfermline to Crossford route.
- Resurfacing on Chalmers Street (south) between the A907 and Bridge Street.
- Replacement of traffic signals at William Street / Pittencrieff Street.
- Structural repair and maintenance works on Glen Bridge.
Councillor James Calder, city of Dunfermline area committee convener, said: “These works will greatly improve road conditions from Dunfermline to Crossford. With the contractor in place, we can now get on with delivering the roadworks this summer.
“We know this scale of work will cause disruption, and we ask residents and businesses for their patience and cooperation while these upgrades are carried out.”
