CPA introduces new event for plant-hire sector

St George’s Hall
The Construction Plant-hire Association (CPA) has unveiled a brand-new highlight on the CPA calendar - the CPA Gala Dinner 2025 - a prestigious black-tie event set to take place in one of the UK’s most iconic venues.
The CPA Gala Dinner is being hosted at the stunning St George’s Hall in Liverpool on Thursday 6th November 2025.
St George’s Hall is a Grade I listed building which is widely regarded as one of the finest neoclassical buildings in the world. Over the years, this unique building has been used as a filming location for several films and TV series, including Peaky Blinders, The War of the Worlds, Tolkien, This City is Ours and House of Guinness. Ringo Starr even performed on the roof of St George’s Hall as part of the ‘People’s Opening’ of Liverpool’s European Capital of Culture celebrations.
The CPA Gala Dinner promises to be an unforgettable night of fine dining, legendary speakers, and industry celebration, with a three-course menu prepared by a team of 5* Michelin chefs.
Steve Mulholland, CPA chief executive officer, said: “We thought it was fitting to get everyone together to celebrate what a wonderful industry we work in. There have been testing times for the sector over the last few years, and the Gala Dinner will allow us all to enjoy an evening of great company and excellent food in the stunning surroundings of St George’s Hall in the heart of Liverpool.
“The event affords the opportunity for CPA members to network with fellow CPA members, the wider industry, colleagues, the CPA Council, the CPA team and we’ll even have some celebrity guests and professional photographers on standby to take paparazzi-style shots. It’s all set to be a fabulous evening and we’re looking forward to everyone joining us.”
The Master of Ceremonies for the evening is well-known plant-hire content creator, journalist, vlogger and event host Peter Haddock of Content With Media. After dinner, there will be two after-dinner speakers - former professional football player and manager John Barnes and comedian Bobby Davro.
John Barnes is considered by many to have been one of the top football players in the world at club level, having played for Liverpool FC for 10 seasons. He still lives in Liverpool today. He earned 79 international caps for England and is now a commentator and pundit for ESPN and SuperSport.
Comedy favourite Bobby Davro is a renowned impressionist comedian with over 100 television and acting credits, stretching out over a remarkable 300 appearances.
