Dundee looks into community regeneration funding to support projects

A report discussing how reallocated Community Regeneration Partnership funding is helping the delivery of local projects has gone before Dundee City councillors.

The update highlights how £3 million became available within the Community Regeneration Partnership programme for formerly approved projects after the removal of plans for a Central Waterfront Office.

A further £500,000 for the Dundee Museum of Transport to further boost its exhibition offer is included in the funding, building on a previous allocation of £1.5m.

The report also highlights an allocation of £500,000 to support another round of the Community Facilities Challenge Fund, helping organisations to complete projects for young people in Dundee.

Councillor Mark Flynn, city governance committee convenor, said: “The Community Regeneration Partnership programme is helping to deliver projects that will benefit local people.

“This funding is supporting the Dundee Museum of Transport as it works towards an exciting future at its new home at Maryfield Tram Depot.”

Flynn added: “It is also enabling another round of the Community Facilities Challenge Fund, which is supporting organisations throughout the city to provide various exciting opportunities for children and young people.”

A total of £20m was allocated to the city under the former Levelling Up Partnership, which is now called the Community Regeneration Partnership (CRP) under the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG).

The Capital Monitoring 2026/27 report went to the Council’s City Governance Committee on 26 October.
