Set in the heart of the Cultural Quarter, the Tay Street Lane Mews building dates back to around 1830 and is built against part of the historic old town wall. The buildings are C-listed and the exterior was renovated in 2011 by Dundee City Council. Initially a shell, the traditional mews building has been regenerated into a new business hub with a striking, modern interior.

The three modern studios inside have now all been occupied with the arrival of The Malting House Design Studio joining service design agency Open Change and Andrew Black.

Andrew Black, the architect behind the project said: “We are delighted to welcome The Malting House into our design hub, which marks the completion of the development as a whole.”

He added: “We very much look forward to both collaborating and growing our respective businesses within such a unique environment.”
