Dykes of Gray community comes together for tree planting
Residents at Dykes of Gray village in Dundee have come together to plant over 400 trees as part of a community event in partnership with the Woodland Trust and housebuilders, Springfield Properties.
The village, which recently won the Best Public Realm title at the UK-wide WhatHouse? Awards was built by Springfield Properties and has been designed to include everything a community needs to thrive – a range of homes, local amenities such as the popular Spar within the development, play parks, an amphitheatre, public art and now - a community woodland.
The Woodland Trust donated 420 trees, across 11 different species, with Springfield providing the land, commemorative medals and refreshments from Nicattos on the day of the planting to over 50 green-fingered volunteers.
