Shetland Islands Council has begun consulting on a proposed extension to a roadstone quarry near Scalloway.

The extension would measure 4.94 hectares in area, to the north-east in the area of the south end of Outnabreack Hill.

Meetings with a public display of the proposals will take place at Scalloway Public Hall, from 3pm to 8pm, on Monday 23 February and Monday 2 March 2026.

The events form part of a pre-application consultation under the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997.

Interested parties and the general public are invited to attend, where staff from the council’s roads service will be on hand to discuss the proposals and to take comments.

Comments or queries can also be e-mailed to roads@shetland.gov.uk.
