Celebrating its 20th year, the Fife House Builders Forum recently came together at the newly opened Fife College Conference Centre in Dunfermline, attracting over 100 delegates from across the housing sector.
Attendees included house builders, housing associations, local authority representatives, consultants, and key stakeholders, all united to address the urgent challenges posed by the housing emergency and explore opportunities to deliver high-quality homes in Fife and beyond.
Speakers from Fife Council, the Scottish Government, and private industry delivered insightful presentations on overcoming obstacles to housing delivery, including planning constraints, infrastructure requirements, and market and legal challenges. The forum provided a vital platform for collaboration and networking, reaffirming the shared commitment to accelerating the delivery of quality homes across Fife.
Opening the event, Councillor David Ross, leader of Fife Council, welcomed the continued investment from housebuilders in delivering quality new homes to meet housing needs across Fife.
He said: “The housing emergency requires coordinated action. The forum demonstrates the strength of partnership across the industry and our determination to remove barriers and deliver the homes that communities need.”
Pam Ewen, head of planning at Fife Council, reinforced this commitment: “The council will continue to work closely with housebuilders and partners to ensure progress on housing targets and to support sustainable growth across the region.”
