And finally… New hospital to get patients ship-shape

Architects have designed a hospital in the shape of a ship to be built in a new city planned for Tunisia.

The White Sails Hospital and Spa has been earmarked to be one of the first buildings built for the Tunisia Economic City (TEC).

Architect Vasily Klyukin says his design is “the most pleasant hospital in the world”, as the quirky concept will take away the fear of going in for treatment.

“The main idea is to build a clinic, where people will feel the calmness and peacefulness, rather than experience the fear while visiting,” he said.

“Visitors will feel more like the guests during a cruise, rather than patients. Even the medical uniforms will be styled as marine uniforms.

“We would like to build the world’s first hospital, which no one will be afraid to visit. Welcome on board!”

The $50bn Tunisia Economic City is due to be built over 90 square km along 18 km of coastline in the Enfidha area of the North African country.
