And finally… Time-lapse video released of the San Francisco 49ers Levi’s Stadium

From April 2012 to September 2014, the next generation of stadium design rose in Santa Clara, California and became the new home of the San Francisco 49ers NFL team.

EarthCam was selected to document and promote the construction progress with 3 megapixel construction cameras and one live streaming HD webcam.

Over 200,000 HD images were archived over 29 months. An additional 1,350 panoramas were created by EarthCam’s robotic cameras, including the GigapixelCam, the first in the world to document stadium construction.

Beginning with the groundbreaking ceremony, project executives and 49ers management shared the construction progress with the public. Now available for the first time, the robust portfolio of HD photos has been edited into a time-lapse for all to enjoy.

“The construction of Levi’s Stadium is a historic project for the 49ers and the City of Santa Clara,” said San Francisco 49ers Chief Operating Officer Paraag Marathe. “It has been more than 50 years since an NFL stadium has been built in the state of California and we wanted to make sure we documented the project from every angle—from groundbreaking through ribbon-cutting. Partnering with EarthCam allows us to preserve this unique period for our fans and for our history.”
