Finning helps client drive business growth with new Cat TRS12 Tiltrotator

A small plant hire business on the Isle of Skye is the first in Scotland to invest in the next generation Cat TRS12 Tiltrotator.
Sean Morrison Plant Hire has added value and versatility to his services with the addition of the tilt rotate system to his Cat 313 hydraulic excavator. With the support of Cat dealer Finning UK & Ireland, the Skye-based plant operator has boosted the performance and profitability of his fleet with the offer of an intuitive TRS system for easy operation and enhanced efficiency.
The TRS12 Tiltrotator is a fully integrated, fully flexible system which allows operators to complete a wide range of jobs across the earthworks spectrum with maximum precision. The equipment supplied by Finning incorporates the latest in-cab technology so switching attachments remains safe and secure. Once the tools are locked in place, all while the operator remains in the cab, the capability of the attachments is extended thanks to simultaneous 360 degree rotation and up to 40 degree left and right tilt.
The investment carries the potential for Sean Morrison Plant Hire to widen its customer base by expanding its range of equipment. Having experienced the enhanced power and performance of a TRS on the Cat 305 CR mini excavator already in his fleet, Sean Morrison said being the first in Scotland to upgrade to the TRS12 Tiltrotator is a huge achievement for his business.
“Being able to offer the TRS12 to customers means offering the ability to get jobs done faster, safely and more efficiently across a variety of applications.
“Working with Finning, I was impressed with how easy the TRS12 is to operate and how it increases the operational capacity of the excavator and its attachments. It means the most skilled and complex jobs can be completed without repositioning the machine. With the TRS12 landing on Scottish soil, we are evolving the business and offering new opportunities to our customers.”
Working with Sean Morrison Plant Hire for the last five years, Finning understood how being able to offer the latest equipment and technology was essential for business growth. Fitting a TRS12 to Sean’s Cat 313 excavator gives the machine access to a wide range of compatible work tools, adding flexibility on site and boosting performance and productivity through the ability to take on a larger and wider range of jobs.
Frank Tobin, territory account manager at Finning, said: “Performance and operator experience are really important to plant hire companies who are working to offer practical and efficient solutions to customers across the construction sector.
“Their clients want access to the most up-to-date technology and equipment so they can complete their jobs to a high quality finish, on time and to priority safety standards. After running through some of the features of the TRS12, Sean could see the benefits of the system to his own business and that of his clients.
“We offered on-site calibration and measuring, as well as a full demo, to ensure the system could be made available to customers as quickly as possible. With a full fleet of Cat machines and work tools on offer, the integration of the TRS12 adds real value to the fleet and has positioned Sean Morrison Plant Hire at the forefront of this industry in Scotland.”
