Former Mace COO joins Taylor Wimpey board

Mark Castle, the former chief operating officer of Mace, has joined the board of Taylor Wimpey as a non-executive director.

Mr Castle, stepped down as Mace COO last April after 16 years in the role, previously held executive roles at Structuretone and Wates.

He is a non executive director at Mace, digital business Eleco and recently became non-executive chairman of Triangle Group – the private equity backed fire safety business.



Taylor Wimpey chairman Irene Dormer said: “Mark’s deep operational knowledge of the construction sector, with particular focus on supply chain, production and innovation, will augment the Board’s current operational skill set and support the company’s key priority areas.”

Clodagh Moriarty, retail and digital director of the supermarket chain J Sainsbury, also joins the housebuilder’s board.

Chairman Irene Dorner said: “Mark’s deep operational knowledge of the construction sector, with particular focus on supply chain, production and innovation, will augment the Board’s current operational skill set and support the company’s key priority areas, while Clodagh’s strategic, digital and customer-focused experience will support our ongoing focus on delivering an enhanced experience for our customers.”

Both appointments take effect on June 1.
