Fraser Architecture has changed its trading name to Durie Architecture and the current LLP members (partners) Robert Fraser and Janice Fraser have now retired from the practice, with Alex Durie, senior architect at the practice taking over the running and ownership of Durie.

Alex Durie said: “It is a privilege to take on the ownership of Fraser Architecture LLP, now trading as Durie Architecture, and to build on the exceptional foundation created by Robert and Janice.

Durie added: “Over the past decade, I have been fortunate to work closely with them to help grow the practice, deliver meaningful projects and strengthen our connection with our valued clients across the islands and beyond.

“My focus is on maintaining the values that have shaped the practice while continuing to develop innovative, sustainable and fabric-first architecture that responds carefully to its setting and the people who use it.”

Robert Fraser said: “We’re delighted to be passing Fraser Architecture into Alex’s hands. Since joining us, in 2017, he has worked very closely with us on all aspects of our practice and has led on much of our project portfolio. This will ensure continuity for clients, collaborators and communities as Alex leads the next stage of the practice’s development”.

Janice Fraser said: “When we set up Fraser Architecture we took a leap of faith - eighteen years on, we’ve had the privilege to deliver an inspiring and varied range of projects for clients across the Outer Hebrides and beyond. Having Alex with us on half of that journey, has certainly helped us to build the thriving practice we have today, and we wish him every success.

“Robert and I remain, with Alex, as co-Directors of 7-22 Systems Ltd, which delivers the innovative prefabricated building system, developed within Fraser Architecture. We look forward to our continued management role and to delivering its construction projects.”
