Glasgow hotel to be transformed into new flats

Glasgow City Council’s planning committee has approved plans to turn a Shawlands hotel and restaurant site into flats.

Hotel owner Ivory Group Ltd had previously gained consent in principle to convert The Ivory on Camphill Avenue at Langside Avenue to residential use with a small coffee shop/cafe to be situated below new flats.

Under the detailed plans, the existing hotel and restaurant would be partly demolished and converted into six flats and a new block of 10 units would be built in the grounds and car park.

The application by Ola Properties Ltd was approved by councillors subject to legal agreement and meeting of conditions.
