A Glasgow-based housebuilder is set to increase its presence across Central Scotland and Ayrshire with the support of a £14 million funding package from Bank of Scotland.

Dawn Homes, established in 1972, has a strong reputation for building premium two, three, four and five bedroom townhouses, detached villas and semi-detached homes across the central belt.

The BoS funding package has enabled the business to expand its product offering by investing in new and existing sites, in response to an increasing demand for high quality homes across the region.

Work recently began on a 20-unit executive development in Torrance, East Dunbartonshire, which will comprise of four and five bedroom properties. The business also plans to start building a similar 39-unit development in Kirkintilloch later this year and a 20-unit development in Howwood early next year.

Dawn Homes currently offers properties in five other picturesque sites across the region: Cambuslang, Croftfoot, Perceton in Irvine, Kilsyth and Fairlie. Construction recently started on the final phase at Kilsyth and phase two at Fairlie will commence later this year.

Earlier this year, the business completed a 79-unit development in Bishopbriggs with the last remaining properties now sold.

Alan Macdonald, chairman and founder of Dawn Homes, said: “There’s a huge demand for premium properties across the central belt. We’ve chosen to invest in sites that will prove popular with buyers looking for homes designed and built to the highest of standards.

“The funding from Bank of Scotland will allow us to work towards achieving an ambitious five-year plan that will both stabilise and enhance our position in the housebuilding market.”

Andy Seaton, relationship director for Bank of Scotland, said: “Dawn Homes is an example of a forward-thinking business that plans accordingly to the needs of its customers. Its successful 45-year history is testament to the team’s dedication to designing quality, bespoke properties in some of the area’s most tranquil spots.

“Housebuilders are a significant part of the country’s economy and with the sector set to boost growth in Scotland’s construction industry, their success is essential to helping Britain prosper. We’re committed to supporting businesses, like Dawn Homes, in achieving ambitious growth plans.”
