GMG Energy expands customer service for Sutherland and Easter Ross

GMG Energy expands customer service for Sutherland and Easter Ross

Halladale-based timber products business GMG Energy has strengthened its customer offering with the introduction of a new delivery van and driver, extending its reach across the Highlands.

The new service will cover Sutherland and Easter Ross thanks to Dornoch-based driver Fergus Macleod, a retired police officer and an occasional piper who knows the Highlands well.

Fergus Macleod will be selling and delivering GMG Energy’s kiln-dried logs and fencing products, providing a reliable local presence in response to growing demand.

Fergus Macleod said: “I’m delighted to be joining GMG Energy. Having lived and worked in this area for many years, I know how important it is for people to have easy access to high-quality logs and fencing. The demand is there, as people are stocking up on wood already ahead of winter. My role is about making sure customers get the products they need quickly and efficiently.”

The new delivery van, fully liveried in GMG Energy’s branding, represents a further investment in the company’s strategy to bring sustainable, locally sourced products to households, farms, and businesses across the north Highlands.

Malcolm Morrison, director of GMG Energy, added: “Expansion of our offering is an important step for us, and we’re very pleased to have Fergus on board.

“He has already delighted some of our most influential customers with an impromptu piping duet, his first in many years, at the annual dinner of the Caithness Chamber of Commerce last month. His local knowledge and commitment to the community mean our customers will benefit from a dependable and familiar face.

“At GMG Energy, we want to make it as easy as possible for people to source sustainable timber products locally, and this investment helps us deliver on that commitment.”
