Adjacent to Glasgow Airport, AMIDS is Scotland’s home of advanced manufacturing and innovation and provides a positive environment which delivers a major boost to Scotland’s manufacturing and Life Science sectors. 

Tech Terrace aims to establish a world-class, high-value manufacturing cluster within a campus environment. The speculative 30,000 sq. ft development will deliver flexible units with footprints starting from circa 2,000 sq ft.  

Supported by a Scottish Enterprise grant of £4.74 million and matched funding from AMIDS joint venture partners Renfrewshire Council and Buccleuch Property, Tech Terrace will address a recognised lack of supply within the market, enabling high-growth advanced manufacturing companies to scale. The development sits within the AMIDS and Glasgow Airport Tax Site, further supporting companies by offering various fiscal incentives.

Renfrewshire Council leader Iain Nicolson said: “This is an exciting step in the ongoing development of AMIDS. Tech Terrace will play a key role in helping businesses establish themselves within Renfrewshire and benefit from being part of a manufacturing cluster, with the opportunity to expand into larger, purpose-built facilities as they grow.

“AMIDS supports our objective to provide local people access to high-quality jobs and to establish Renfrewshire as a global leader in advanced manufacturing.”

Josh Thomas, development manager at Buccleuch Property, added: “Securing planning approval is a major milestone for Tech Terrace and for the continued development of AMIDS.

“Our commitment to delivering manufacturing units capable of accommodating a range of users will allow innovative businesses to cluster around the leading High Value Manufacturing Catapults – the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS) and CPI’s Medicines Manufacturing Innovation Centre – whether that’s on a speculative or design and build basis.”

The construction of Tech Terrace is targeted to begin in the Autumn.
