Planning permission has been granted for a new office block at Glasgow’s Pacific Quay after revisions were made to the original design including the addition of an extra floor.

Holmes Miller Architects lodged plans on behalf of Expresso Property in November 2019 to regenerate the landscaped site beside Glasgow Science Centre and IMAX Cinema.

Originally set to offer office accommodation across four floors, the development will now have a total of around 53,400 sq ft of lettable space over five floors.

To be branded as ‘G51’, the building will also incorporate a lower ground floor providing 30 car parking spaces and cycle storage.

Outlining its plans for open space in its original application, Holmes Miller wrote: “The site is exposed to the prevailing west and north east winds. Hedging and raised planting areas have been introduced to assist in filtering winds to make it more comfortable to walk, sit and gather.

“Opportunities for outdoor seating have been incorporated at the south-west corner of the building and at the front entrance. Paved areas will be principally used to enhance the entrance area and form an outdoor seating terrace.”
