Greener Energy Group launches in the north east of England

Scottish renewable and energy-efficient solutions provider Greener Energy Group has announced its expansion into the north east of England following increasing demand and a rapidly expanding customer base across the borders.

The HEIS and EPVS-accredited company will now offer its tailored heating and energy-saving solutions to households in areas including Durham, Darlington, and Newcastle upon Tyne, bringing its highly rated five-star service to a new region of the UK.

On the expansion, director Peter Chalmers said: “We’re incredibly excited to bring Greener Energy Group to the Northeast of England. Demand for our services has grown steadily due to our reputation for transparency, customer care, and quality products. This move allows us not only to grow our team but also to help even more households reduce bills and transition to sustainable living.”

Founded by Peter Chalmers, who experienced fuel poverty firsthand, Greener Energy Group has always been driven by a clear mission: to eradicate fuel poverty while accelerating the UK’s move away from fossil fuels. Unlike many of the larger corporate energy brands, GEG has built its success by putting people before profits, maintaining high ethical standards, and ensuring every installation meets rigorous quality benchmarks. This disruptive, customer-first approach has earned the company outstanding reviews and set it apart as a trusted alternative in the energy sector.

Greener Energy Group specialises in supplying and installing renewable heating technologies such as air source heat pumps, solar PV systems, and battery storage - efficient, high-quality products that give homeowners a greener, safer, and more cost-effective alternative to traditional systems. These technologies are several times more energy-efficient and represent a vital step in the UK’s transition toward low-carbon, sustainable living.

To make adoption more accessible, GEG will also guide customers in securing government grants to fund installations. With schemes differing across borders, the company is well-placed to advise homeowners on opportunities through England’s Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) compared to Home Energy Scotland’s grant and loan offerings.

Director Peter Chalmers added: “Our move into the Northeast reflects not just business growth, but a real commitment to helping more households lower bills and fight climate change. By combining our award-winning service with the highest quality renewable products, we’re making sustainable living a realistic option for families across the UK.”
