Survey and valuation services provider Harvey, Donaldson & Gibson (HSG) has secured a contract with River Clyde Homes to support the retrofitting of its current housing stock.

River Clyde Homes will be working in partnership with ECD Architects Ltd and AC Whyte on this extensive project which was procured through Scotland Excel Energy Efficiency Framework.

The PAS 2035 coordination work on the project is being undertaken by Jonathan Bourke, drector of retrofit at HDG, with the design undertaken by the team at ECD Architects Ltd.

HDG is a subsidiary of Countrywide Surveying Services, the supplier of valuation panel management services, residential valuations and surveys.

Jonathan Bourke, director of retrofit, at Harvey, Donaldson & Gibson, said: “This is a hugely significant project for the region, and we are proud to have been chosen by River Clyde Homes to partner them on such an exciting and rewarding journey.

“The aim of raising living standards for tenants through modernising and future-proofing existing homes with a focus on sustainability and energy efficiency is highly admirable and one which reflects our own ethos as a business.”

Duncan Smith, head of energy & sustainability, River Clyde Homes, added: “The most important questions we have to answer over the coming decade are how we develop solutions across housing and the built environment that tackle climate change and eradicate fuel poverty.

“The role of the retrofit coordinator is critical in how we ensure that we address the performance gap in our homes and deliver retrofit work that ensures we undertake a just transition for tenants in social housing.

“We’re delighted to be working with CSS on this project and see the role of chartered surveyors are the guardians of quality and adherence to process and design when we are onsite with insulation and heating works.”
