Plans have been unveiled to demolish the former Stewart Milne Group offices in Westhill and replace them with a new residential development.

Hillcrest is behind a proposal to flatten the vacant three-storey Peregrine House on Enterprise Road to make way for 45 new homes.

The facility has remained empty since the housebuilder went into administration last year.

The proposed redevelopment includes 32 two-bedroom apartments and 13 family homes ranging from two to five bedrooms. Planning documents show that the northern portion of the site would accommodate a new four-storey apartment block, while the larger homes would be located to the east and south. Parking would be provided throughout the remainder of the site, with access from Enterprise Road.

Hillcrest argues that the project is vital in addressing the significant local demand for social housing. As of October 2024, 253 households were on the council’s waiting list for housing in Westhill.

The collapse of the Stewart Milne Group in 2023 led to 217 job losses, left several housing projects unfinished, and resulted in substantial financial losses.
