The housing provider hopes to build 131 properties on vacant land directly across from the shops in Skye Crescent.

The plans include one-, two- and three-bedroom homes for social rent and shared equity sale. If approved the project would include cottage flats and wheelchair-friendly accommodation.

The majority of the homes would be managed by Sanctuary Scotland for social rent, with 22 sold for low cost home ownership. The site was acquired by Sanctuary with funding from the Scottish Government.

Pat Cahill, director of Sanctuary Scotland, said: “These homes would be Sanctuary’s first in Glenburn and would help to address a shortage of affordable housing in the area.”
