CCG development and marketing manager Chris Murray presented with Conversion of the Year

Carbon Futures, igloo Regeneration and CCG (Scotland) were among the winners at the Herald Property Awards for Scotland 2025 last month, with the latter picking up no less than five awards on the night.

The standout success for CCG was Water Row in Govan, developed in partnership with Govan Housing Group and Collective Architecture. The landmark regeneration was the only double-winner of the ceremony, taking home both Best Regeneration Residential and the Sustainable Community Impact Award. These latest accolades bring Water Row’s total to six awards in 2025, marking it one of Scotland’s most celebrated housing developments of the year.

Further recognition was secured for the 88-home Clydebank East, West Dunbartonshire Council’s first and largest ‘net zero ready’ residential development, which was named Affordable Housing Development of the Year.

In Motherwell, the sensitive transformation of a former YMCA Building at Brandon Street, a part conversion, part new-build development of 48 homes for North Lanarkshire Council with Coltart Earley, earned the Best Conversion Award.

Meanwhile, in Glasgow’s Dundashill, Maltings Wynd was recognised for Innovation in Sustainable Construction and Design, reflecting igloo Regeneration’s commitment to achieving enhanced building standards and addressing climate change in the private housing sector. CCG led the construction of the 78-home development, which adopted a tailored energy and sustainability strategy developed by Carbon Futures.

Carbon Futures director, Andrew Money, who attended the celebration and accepted the award on behalf of the team, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to see Maltings Wynd win this award. The competition was tough, with some outstanding developments shortlisted, and to take home this accolade is an achievement that we are incredibly proud of.

“For Carbon Futures, this project represents an example of the fantastic collaboration between our team and our project partners, highlighting how building performance analysis
can truly influence design and help our clients achieve their goals for sustainability and energy efficiency.”

Gary Watt, development director at igloo Regeneration, added: “We’re delighted to have won the Innovation in Sustainable Construction and Design category at the Herald Property Awards for Scotland for our homes at Dundashill.

“Our vision for Maltings Wynd was to blend climate-resilient homes with community living in the heart of Glasgow’s Canalside. This award is a testament to our partnership with the Housing Growth Partnership and a reflection of our project team’s ongoing dedication to sustainable development.”

Igloo Regeneration appointed Carbon Futures to devise a future-proofed energy strategy for the Maltings Wynd development, ensuring all homes would perform well beyond the
minimum building standards for energy and sustainability.

To develop the energy strategy, Carbon Futures produced a detailed operational energy performance report which considered a variety of strategies for the development. This detailed analysis report provided igloo Regeneration with as much performance data as possible to support their decision-making process when deciding on the most appropriate solution to take forward.

On completion, all 78 properties at Maltings Wynd achieved an EPC ‘A’ rating for energy performance and Gold Standard for carbon emissions and space heating energy demand.
