Hundreds of Scottish construction professionals arrived in Glasgow this morning as the Scottish Construction Summit got underway.

The event, at the Technology & Innovation Centre at the University of Strathclyde, has been addressed by top speakers, including Mark Farmer, the construction guru commissioned by the UK Government to produce the influential Farmer Report on the UK construction industry.

Event coordinator Paul McDevitt opened proceedings by sharing with delegates his belief that there has been a huge demand within the Scottish sector for an event of this scale that delivers vital opportunities to network and collaborate.

Alan Smith, managing director of headline sponsors SPI Piling, thanked attendees as the event ran through its busy morning programme.
