Jarvie Plant Group has launched a “group-wide” recruitment drive to help support its rapid business growth.

The Grangemouth-based plant hire firm has recently opened a new depot in Aberdeen and has moved to a new purpose built depot in Dundee, taking the total number of depots in Scotland to eight.

Over the last 12 months staff numbers across the group have risen to 150 with 15 new jobs created to support the expanded depot network, but this number is set to rise further.

A number of new posts are being created within the Group from Aberdeen to Central belt across a range of positions including senior sales manager roles, operations managers, back office functions and plant fitter roles as well as supervisors.

Jarvie’s business development director, David Jarvie, said: “The business is on an exciting growth curve so it’s vital we attract people who have the right sector experience.

“With Scotland’s construction sector gradually improving, we are aiming to provide our customers such as house builders, civil engineers and building contractors with a first class hire service.”

The company is currently involved in the construction of the new Aberdeen Western Peripheral Bypass where it is supplying equipment and machinery to the construction consortium involving Balfour Beatty, Carillion and Galliford Try.

In Dundee the firm is providing tower lights and generators to the V&A Museum project whilst in Edinburgh and Glasgow the firm continues to support the thriving house building sector with a range of temporary accommodation, vans, tele-handlers and civils equipment to keep pace with demand.

But it is not just Jarvie Plant which has experienced an expansion in its activities. Jarvie’s sister company, JP Vehicle Rentals, has invested in over 200 new vehicles, including highly specified welfare vans (M1 spec – 8 seat carriers), taking the fleet to in excess of 40.
