JR Group begins first new homes for Stirling Council

Building and construction business The JR Group has begun work on a new housing development on behalf of Stirling Council to create a collection of modern energy-efficient homes for the city.

This is the first project The JR Group has partnered with Stirling Council on which will deliver a collection of one- and two-bedroom cottage flats to replace the current flatted building, located on the corner of Glasgow Road and Barnsdale Road in the St. Ninians’s area of Stirling.

The sustainable flats can expect to achieve silver level for its space heating thanks to the installation of a zero-gas air exhaust system, triple-glazed windows, and installation of photovoltaic (PV) panels along with battery storage. It will be achieving platinum level for carbon emission reduction making it a highly energy efficient and sustainable place to live for future residents. Each of the properties is set to have their own door access, garden space and parking.

Designed with a contemporary feel whilst using traditional materials, in keeping with the local architecture surrounding the site, the development will have a timber kit construction and feature a mix of colours and smooth facing brick/masonry and smooth render façades with weather board cladding feature panels.
