Kelvin KBB bought over after entering administration
A deal has strengthened the future of a Cumbernauld kitchen manufacturing business, Kelvin KBB, saving 58 jobs.
On 26 June, the business which specialises in kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms for national housebuilders entered administration, reports The Herald.
It was later acquired through a deal by AMJ Limited, now trading as Arria Furniture Group.
With joint administrators Ben Cairns and Michael Magnay overseeing the transaction, the sale was concluded by Alvarez & Marsal.
The move safeguards all 58 employees, ensuring they stay in employment and enables the business to stay in operation.
Trading as Arria Furniture Group, AMJ Limited, is owned by Kelvin KBB’s current management team.
Established in 1983 by Tony Alvarez II and Bryan Marsal, Alvarez & Marsal is an international professional services firm. Its specialisms are advisory, business performance enhancement and turnaround management.
Kevin Lamb, senior director at Alvarez & Marsal, said: “Having conducted a competitive sale process, we concluded that this transaction represented the best available outcome for the company’s stakeholders.
“It ensures continuity for customers and provides the business with a stable platform for the future.”
