Kilmac to deliver active travel works in Monifieth

Kilmac has been awarded a significant contract to collaborate with Tayside Contracts and Dundee City Council for the next phase of Active Travel works in Monifieth.

Commencing in November and anticipated to last approximately 19 weeks, this project will bring forth vital improvements to the local infrastructure.

The project scope encompasses the construction of a shared footway and cycleway through Castle Green and Mill Street, Broughty Ferry. Additionally, the contract includes the reconstruction of the road, footways, and cycleway junction at Castle Lane, Mill Street, and The Esplanade. These enhancements will provide the local community with safer and more accessible routes for active travel.

The works to be undertaken by Kilmac Limited involve a range of activities, including earthworks, sub-base installation, kerb installation, and the use of natural stone paving. These elements come together to create a comprehensive project that addresses the unique needs of the Monifieth area.

Kilmac said that it is looking forward to working closely with Tayside Contracts and Dundee City Council to bring this project to fruition, and we are dedicated to ensuring its successful and timely completion.

Athole McDonald, commercial director, said: “We look forward to collaborating with Tayside Contracts and Dundee City Council to successfully complete the next project phases of the Active Travel Scheme.”
