Kingdom announces appointment of new development director
Kingdom Housing Association, which aims to develop and build around 2,900 homes over the next five years, has appointed Scott Kirkpatrick as director of development.
Scott was previously head of development services at the Glenrothes-based association that builds and manages housing, while also providing care support services in East central Scotland.
Bill Banks, Kingdom’s group chief executive, said: “I’m very pleased that Scott has been appointed as Director of Development. We have ambitious plans to develop an increased number of new properties over the next five years and we took the decision we wanted to strengthen the executive management team, to ensure our business plan targets and objectives are achieved.
“Scott’s appointment will help ensure we not only deliver our plans to increase the number of new affordable homes we provide, but will also ensure we provide community benefits, through the added value that can be gained from the development of new projects.”
Bill added: “Scott will also be heavily involved in expanding the business strategy for our subsidiary, Kingdom Initiatives, and building on our existing collaborative arrangements with local authorities and housing associations as well as forging new relationships.”
Kingdom has plans to deliver 1,500 new homes for social rent and 400 for mid market rent over the next five years. In addition to the new homes that Kingdom will build for themselves, the association also expects to develop projects for other social landlords and councils which could deliver as many as 1,000 additional new homes over the same period.
Scott Kirkpatrick said: “I’m delighted to be appointed as the Director of Development and I’m looking forward to the new challenges. I have worked with Kingdom for a number of years and share the desire to grow our business, through the provision of much needed affordable homes, to meet the growing needs and demands in all our areas of operation. I am thankful that we have such a strong and experienced team in place and we will be further strengthening our development team through new appointments over the next few months.”
Scott added that he “was looking forward to continuing to work with existing and new partners, as part of the implementation of our development strategy”.
Scott will now join Kingdom’s Executive Management Team which now comprises: Bill Banks, group chief executive; Scott Kirkpatrick, director of development; Nick Pollard, director of corporate support services, Alan Simpson, director of housing and asset management and Norah Smith, director of Kingdom Support and Care.
