Lakesmere checks in with Aberdeen hotel contract

Lakesmere GroupThe Lakesmere Group has been awarded a £1 million contract from main contractor Morgan Sindall to deliver an innovative cladding package for the new Marriott Residence Inn Hotel in Aberdeen.

The hotel, which is the first of the Marriott brand to open in the city, has been designed by architects Halliday Fraser Munro and is a key part of Aberdeen City Council and Muse Development’s £107m Marischal Square city centre regeneration project.

MarischalThe contract will see the Lakesmere North team work within a busy city centre, with the hotel also being close to the historic Provost Skene House. Lakesmere’s scope of work will include the design and installation of the hotel’s striking rainscreen package which includes coloured aluminium panels specified in complementary shades of grey. Work is expected to commence on site in August 2016.

With a prestigious portfolio of completed projects across Scotland, Lakesmere North’s previous work in Aberdeen includes the various cladding work at Robert Gordon University as part of the redevelopment of the Garthdee Campus.
