LUC to lead Irvine High Street regeneration

Irvine-High-StreetLandscape architecture, urban design, planning and ecology consultancy LUC has been appointed by North Ayrshire Council to lead the regeneration of Irvine High Street.

Building on recent regeneration projects in the town centre such as Bridgegate Public Realm, the refurbishment of Bridgegate House and the construction of the new leisure centre, the £3 million project will involve the comprehensive upgrade of the High Street and Bank Street as well as the various vennels that link High Street and Bank Street to East Road car park.

LUC will lead a project team that comprises Peter Brett Associates, Harley Haddow and Hawthorne Boyle Partnership.

The project confirms North Ayrshire’s commitment to delivering the Irvine Vision as part of an area-wide regeneration initiative based on building a more dynamic, appealing and aspirational Town Centre.

The Irvine High Street project builds on LUC’s experience designing and delivering major public realm projects such as Inverness City Centre, Newcastle Science Central, Glasgow University and Shawfield National Business District.
