Maxi Construction awarded £2.2m contract for Refurbishment of Panmure House

Livingston-based contractor, Maxi Construction Limited, has been awarded a £2.2 million contract for alteration and extension works to the Grade A listed Panmure House for Edinburgh Business School.

Once a residence of economist Adam Smith, Panmure House will be refurbished to provide flexible accommodation for lectures, readings, performances and seminars.

An extension will be built to provide an entrance foyer and internal space will be sympathetically refurbished and reconfigured to provide a Reading Room, Lecture Room, offices, kitchen and toilet facilities.

A new stone pencheck stair will be installed along with lifts to facilitate access to all levels of the building.



The project team includes Project Manager Gardiner & Theobald LLP, EK:JN Architects LLP, Principal Designer and Quantity Surveyor Thomson Bethune, Structural Engineer Robertson Eadie and Services Engineer EDP Consulting Engineers.
