MCR Property Group acquires Europa House in Motherwell

Real estate investment and development company MCR Property Group has acquired Europa House in Motherwell in its first purchase in Scotland of 2022.

Located in the north of Motherwell town centre, just off the M8 and M74 motorways, the four-storey detached office building extending to 20,836 sq ft comes with a fully landscaped site of c.1.5 acres with 66 dedicated car parking spaces.

The property also benefits from one acre of development land which MCR will endeavour to achieve planning permission for a further 10,000 sq ft of industrial space, which will be fulfilled using local contractors.

MCR, with its Scottish headquarters in Glasgow, has invested over £20 million into Scotland’s commercial and residential property market in the last 12 months. The firm’s recent purchases include The Pentagon Centre in Glasgow and Merlin Business Centre at Hillington Park, with more acquisitions due to follow in 2022.

Nick Lake, asset manager for MCR, said: “We are always actively seeking to buy assets which are not only a good investment but also can further provide the opportunity to create new commercial workspaces, especially where we can feed into the demand of the increasingly buoyant industrial sector.

“Europa House is in a fantastic location surrounded by rail and road networks and will be the first purchase in what we believe will be a busy 2022 for us in Scotland.”

Law firm TLT acted for MCR on the purchase of Europa House.
