Merchant Homes teams up with Sanctuary to deliver more affordable homes

Merchant Homes has expanded its partnership with Sanctuary Housing with two contracts totalling £12 million to deliver more affordable homes throughout Scotland.

The latest projects being launched between the housing provider and Merchant Homes have been agreed to allow the continuation of building a further collection of much-needed new homes within thriving areas.

Building works have started on both developments in Linwood, Renfrewshire, and Greenhills, East Kilbride, with completion dates marked for early 2024 and August 2023 respectively. Each development will comprise a contemporary mix of semi-detached and terraced homes, and one and two-bedroom apartments.

Merchant Homes has almost £20m in partnership contracts for affordable homes to be built between 2022 and 2024. These include two and three-bedroom semi-detached properties and cottage flats in Pitkerro, Dundee, alongside Home Group, and one and two-bedroom apartments in Strathaven, in partnership with South Lanarkshire Council and Clyde Valley Housing Association.

Linda McLuskie, sales and marketing director for Merchant Homes, said: “The continuation of our partnership with these leading house providers demonstrates our commitment to creating a series of much-needed new homes throughout Scotland, in line with the Scottish Government’s affordable homes target.

“All of our homes have been designed spaciously, with superior design and craftsmanship that is synonymous with the Merchant Homes brand.

“We are very excited about seeing our forthcoming projects come together and ensuring we maintain our vision of creating affordable homes that people want to live in. A huge thanks to our partners for helping us to make these projects possible.”
