Miller Homes is calling on local projects, charities and causes to apply for its next round of community funding, which will see £20,000 distributed among those in need near its 23 developments.

With community at its heart, Miller said it hopes to better local neighbourhoods across the East and West of Scotland with its Community Fund programme.

Designed to make a difference, the homebuilder is looking for any organisations who help support the local community to apply. Whether it’s food banks in need of supplies, local sports groups looking for new equipment or kit, allotment groups hoping to grow produce for the community, Miller Homes wants to support the amazing work going on.

Last year, the homebuilder supported 19 groups in Scotland, with Home Start West Lothian and Dynamite Gymnastics Club Clydebank among the worthy causes who received funding. Home Start West Lothian, based in Livingston, is a charity supporting parents with young children. Miller Homes Scotland East donated £1,000 towards its Stay & Play programme. Dynamite Gymnastics Club received £500 from Miller Homes Scotland West to help its attendees aged 16 who assist with recreational classes get through their Level 1 UKCC coaching course.

David McGrath, divisional managing director for Miller Homes Scotland reflected on the success of last year and comments on the next round of Community Fund support. He said: “It’s been a rewarding experience to support groups at the heart of our local communities and we can’t thank everyone enough for the hard work in delivering our first successful round of funding.

“We are looking forward to this second round and hope to support the most vulnerable members of our communities and encourage all groups no matter their size to get in touch.”

Each of Miller Homes’ 10 regional offices across the UK will have its own £10,000 fund, which combined will contribute £100,000 to community initiatives across the country every year.

Applications for Community Fund will close on Wednesday 3 May, with a minimum of £250 and a maximum of £2,000 awarded.
