Mitie Group revenues up 4.8 per cent

Mitie, the strategic outsourcing company which delivers a range of services across Scotland, has this morning announced its results for the year ended 30 September 2014.

The FTSE 250 company employs in excess of 70,000 people across the United Kingdom and Europe, of which more than 7,000 are based in Scotland.

The headline results reflect strong revenue and earnings growth, with revenues up 4.8 per cent to £1,095.0m and operating profit before other items increasing by 3.0 per cent to £64.2m.



Mitie works on many well-known contracts in Scotland, including the Scottish Government and Standard Life Investments.

In this period Mitie was awarded new contracts operating in the Scotland which include:

  • Retained an integrated FM contract with Vodafone for a further five years, valued at £250m


  • A new contract with the Port of Leith Housing Association to deliver paintwork across the association’s housing stock
  • A new contract with Scottish Borders Housing Association to deliver external and internal painting
  • Ruby McGregor-Smith CBE, chief executive of Mitie, said: “We have delivered a strong performance in our core FM business during the first half of the year, and we expect to gain further positive momentum through the rest of the year.



    “Our order book is substantial, our pipeline strong. We are in a good position and look ahead with confidence.”
