More than 40 firms named on £9.5bn education capital works framework
Crescent Purchasing Consortium (CPC) has appointed more than 40 contractors and demolition specialists to a new Construction & Capital Works framework covering education and wider public-sector building projects across England, Wales and Scotland.
The framework supports new-build and refurbishment schemes for schools, colleges, universities, sixth forms, academies, museums and similar public bodies. Local authorities procuring on behalf of educational establishments are also eligible to use it.
The agreement is divided into 45 lots structured around geography and contract form, spanning the North of England, Midlands, South of England, Wales and Scotland. Contract routes available include JCT minor works, JCT intermediate, JCT design-and-build, JCT design-and-build with preconstruction services (PCSA), NEC4 and demolition contracts.
CPC has assigned an indicative value of around £211 million to each lot, giving the framework a total potential spend of approximately £9.5 billion. Award decisions were made on 3 June 2026, with contracts eligible to be signed from 30 June 2026. The framework is due to run from 1 July 2026 for an initial two-year term, with three possible 24-month extensions that could extend its life to 30 June 2034.
Galliford Try was among the biggest winners, securing places across England, Wales and Scotland. Graham, Seddon, CBES, GMI Construction, Vinci Facilities and Premier Modular also featured heavily across multiple regions.
In Scotland, CBES and Graham each won all eight main works lots, with Galliford Try taking six, CCG five, Premier Modular four and DRW five. On demolition, Rhodar and GLC Projects both secured places across all five regions.
