The continuing expansion of hub North Scotland has seen two Tier 1 construction contractors added to its supply chain.

Morgan Sindall and CHAP have been added following a competitive supply chain refresh by the public-private partnership developer. They join the current Tier 1 contractors Robertson, Morrison, Kier, Ogilvie and Balfour Beatty.

Hub North Scotland is currently delivering the City Centre and Beach Master Plan for Aberdeen City Council and the North Schools Programme for five local authorities. It was also recently appointed as the development partner for the Highland Council’s Highland Investment Plan and other current projects include the new Peterhead Campus for Aberdeenshire Council.

Chief executive Richard Park welcomed the addition of the two contractors and said the increasing potential future community infrastructure pipeline opportunities across the hub North Scotland territory meant they were joining at the prefect time.

He added: “I was delighted by the large number of expressions of interest we had for the refresh and after a transparent application exercise, Morgan Sindall and CHAP were successful. These contractors share our values in delivering top quality and innovative projects and I am looking forward to working with them both.”

Stuart Parker, managing director Scotland for Morgan Sindall, said: “We are thrilled to have won a place as a Tier 1 contractor for hub North Scotland, and we are very much looking forward to getting started on this exciting journey and working with the team and participants.

“Our focus on collaboration, quality sustainability and innovation mirror the hub North Scotland values, and we believe the shared approach will be key to delivering lasting benefits across the North of Scotland.”

He added: “This appointment builds on the expertise of our Inverness-based team, whose local knowledge and strong community connections will be central to delivering projects that make a real difference.”

Andy McNair, pre-construction director for CHAP, said: “We are delighted to have been appointed by hub North Scotland. This achievement aligns with our strategic vision to strengthen our presence and deliver sustainable growth across the region.

“Being part of this collaboration allows us to build on our strong track record and continue delivering high-quality projects that make a positive impact on local communities.”

Balfour Beatty has decided to leave the hub North Scotland Tier 1 construction contractor supply chain list to pursue other opportunities once it has completed the delivery of the new Forres Campus in Moray.
