Morgan Sindall appointed Tier-1 contractor for hub South West

Morgan SindallPrivate sector development company hub South West Scotland has announced that Morgan Sindall is to join its supply chain as a Tier 1 contractor.

The contractor joins Kier, Galliford Try and Graham Construction as supply chain members.

The appointment follows a competitive tendering process which began earlier this year, and was open to contractors with an operational base within Scotland who could demonstrate the capacity, capability and experience of delivering high-value projects to the public sector.

hub South West said Morgan Sindall’s appointment adds further strength and depth to its supplier network and will maintain its track record of meeting and exceeding client’s needs, therefore enhancing the value of its procurement and development processes.

In recent months Morgan Sindall has demonstrated a deep understanding of the principles of the hub vehicle, as well as an insight into the specific needs within the South West territory and the alignment of values on which it operates, the company added.

Michael McBrearty, chief executive, hub South West, said the supply chain refresh gave hub South West the opportunity to review its existing network and expand in order to include many large, medium and small local contractors who are best placed to help deliver its business.

He added: “Key supply chain members are a vital part of hub South West, consistently working with us to deliver innovative, creative, whole life, value for money solutions. Morgan Sindall brings with them a great pedigree in delivery experience, and we look forward to working with them as a partnering contractor on future projects, to further develop a sustainable future within communities across South West Scotland.”

Harry Thorburn, MD of Morgan Sindall, said: “Morgan Sindall has a long and successful track record in the hub South West territory, delivering transformational facilities and sustainable economic benefits for local communities. We are delighted to be given an opportunity to build upon this track record as a Tier 1 contractor for hub South West and we look forward to working with them and their participants in the future.”
