Morris & Spottiswood opens Inverness office

Morris & Spottiswood Group has opened a new office in Inverness, indicating increasing investment in Scotland’s energy grid.

The new office broadens Morris & Spottiswood Group’s reach, with the business now being active from London to Inverness.

Newly appointed divisional director Martin Bell is leading the expansion. Facing the task of setting up and broadening the group’s presence in the Highlands and north of Scotland, Bell brings nearly 20 years of experience delivering projects within the Inverness area.

Bell joins Morris & Spottiswood Group from RYBKA and is a chartered engineer by background.

Bell said: “Opening our Inverness office is an exciting step for the Morris & Spottiswood Group and reflects the growing construction and infrastructure opportunities across the region.

“We have a strong track record in delivering successful projects for retail, production & manufacturing, defence, finance, commercial and public-sector clients, including education and other community-focused facilities.”

Bell added: “Not to mention our work in the energy sector with the likes of Scottish Power Energy Networks, Scottish & Southern Energy, Clark Energy and Nadara.

“Our aim is to bring that depth of experience, combined with the scale and resources of the wider Group, closer to clients across the region.”

The project brought together expertise from across the Morris & Spottiswood Group.

Morris & Spottiswood delivered the fit-out, bespoke joinery and flooring packages; Livingston undertook the M&E works; McLennan acted as principal designer; and Inspire Spaces provided the furniture, fixtures and equipment, providing a modern workplace.

Meanwhile, the group plans to broaden the Inverness office into a full local team, with apprenticeship opportunities included.
