New asphalt company lays firm foundations in North Lanarkshire

With support from North Lanarkshire Council and North Lanarkshire Properties, Roadlay Ltd identified premises at Rochsolloch Road, Airdrie within two weeks.

The premises meet the company’s needs to deliver innovative road and surfacing solutions, and will allow them to create new jobs, support local supply chains and pursue future growth.

The family business was created when MacAdam Asphalt Co Ltd, an asphalt production, quarry and transport company based in Lanark, was sold last year.

Stewart and Craig Denny subsequently moved to purchase the assets of a road surfacing business based in the Scottish Borders.  Their new company, Roadlay Ltd, was born, building on the family’s significant 40 years’ experience in the Scottish industry.

Craig Denny, director at Roadlay Ltd, said: “Many thanks for the very professional advice from North Lanarkshire Council Enterprise Team and North Lanarkshire Properties and the speed at which they expedited our request for premises. A class act indeed.”

Yvonne Weir, enterprise manager at North Lanarkshire Council, said: “We are very pleased to have been able to find suitable premises to help establish this new company in North Lanarkshire.

“We will continue to provide assistance to Craig and his team at Roadlay to support their ambitions to develop the business.

“This is another example of the excellent facilities available in North Lanarkshire for new and existing companies to locate and grow.”
