New office and new homes in pipeline for Shire Housing Association

Shire Housing Association has unveiled ambitious plans which include investing over £9 million in the next five years in its existing homes, building 49 new homes in Netherthird and building a new office at Glaisnock Road in Cumnock.

Making the announcement at its recent AGM, Simon Roberts, the Association’s chairperson, stated: “The last five years have seen the Association invest £6.8m in our homes making them more energy efficient for our tenants, and the next five years will see a further £9.2m invested in our homes.”

The Association plans to work with Rosewood Homes to build 49 new homes for rent at Craigens Road in Netherthird.

Planning consent was granted in September 2025 for the proposed development, and Shire hopes to finalise the project details soon to allow construction to commence in early 2026.

Simon Roberts added: “In addition to investing in our existing properties and building new homes, we are progressing plans to build a new office next to the current building at Glaisnock Road in Cumnock. The project team recently submitted a planning application to East Ayrshire Council. Our current office building is outdated and in poor condition. The new office underlines our commitment to investing in East Ayrshire, allowing us to continue delivering high quality services to our communities.”
