Gillian Woodward

Law firm Addleshaw Goddard has recruited Gillian Woodward as a partner in its construction litigation team.

Gillian joins the firm from Pinsent Masons, where she built a highly regarded UK-wide construction and infrastructure disputes practice over more than 20 years. She has extensive experience advising on complex construction, engineering and energy disputes, with particular strength across infrastructure, civil engineering, development and renewables.

Gillian will be based in the firm’s new office at St Andrew Square in the centre of Edinburgh. She is the fourth new partner added to the team in 2026 alone, and the second in the Scottish team following on from the arrival of Stacey Cassidy in the firm’s Glasgow office in March.

Addleshaw Goddard’s construction team features more than 150 specialist lawyers advising on some of the most ambitious and complex projects across jurisdictions.

Andrew Greaves, head of construction at Addleshaw Goddard, said: “I am delighted that Gillian is joining us, strengthening our construction litigation capability in Scotland and across the UK as well as further supporting our energy sector focus.

“Gillian brings a strong market profile and an excellent client network, including relationships with major contractors, developers and energy businesses and her arrival will enhance our ability to support clients across the full project lifecycle and create further opportunities for collaboration across real estate, construction, energy and disputes.”

Gillian Woodward said: “It is fantastic to be joining Addleshaw Goddard at a time when the firm is going from strength to strength in Scotland and internationally. I am looking forward to bringing my commitment and dedication to the existing team at AG as we deliver the most successful results for our clients across the infrastructure landscape.”
