Saltcoats Victoria Football Club has received a £1,000 donation from Persimmon Homes West Scotland to support the club as it carries out essential regeneration work at Campbell Park.

While the work is underway, the Seasiders have temporarily relocated to Winton Park in Ardrossan.

Founded in 1889, Saltcoats Victoria has a proud history of developing talented players, with former members going on to represent Chelsea, Manchester City, Newcastle United, and the Scottish national team.

The club is located just five minutes from Persimmon’s local development in Saltcoats, reflecting the homebuilder’s commitment to supporting initiatives in the communities where it builds.

Chris Logan, managing director of Persimmon Homes West Scotland, said: Saltcoats Victoria has been at the heart of the local community for generations, inspiring players and fans alike.

“We’re proud to support the club as they invest in their facilities and ensure Campbell Park continues to be a welcoming, thriving hub for football and community activities.”

Gary Montgomerie, club treasurer at Saltcoats Victoria, added: “These are exciting but also challenging times at Saltcoats Victoria as we move through the phases of transforming and modernising our facilities which will reflect our playing aspirations and also benefit our community. We would like to thank Persimmon Homes for their continued support throughout this journey.”
