Plan to demolish former Glasgow RBS bank for new hotel

The former Royal Bank of Scotland building on Glasgow’s Trongate could be demolished to make way for a 157-room aparthotel rising to 12 storeys.

Caledon Property Group has lodged plans to Glasgow City Council requesting permission to bring down the old RBS property and ground floor shops as well as the Oriental Bar on Hutcheson Street.

Mosaic Architecture & Design’s project will also see a pub and retail element included.
